FAQs
Do you have a studio?
No, I do not have studio. I am on-location photographer so I meet you at a predetermined location or come to your house.
How do we decide where to meet up? How far will you travel?
When we get in touch I’ll be asking you some questions about what kind of location you think you’d like- a place with water, lots of flowers, a field, or an urban setting, and from there I’ll suggest a place that would meet your needs. If I find a place that I think would be perfect for what your looking for but it might be too far for you to travel, I’ll still suggest it because you never know!
I travel up to 50 miles outside of 03031. Anything beyond that will be an additional $30 gas fee.
Do you photograph weddings?
No, I do not. However, I have list of 5 amazing photographers at varying prices that I can give to you if you email me. {info at nicolasamoreauphotography.com}
How far in advanced should I book?
I’m pretty flexible but I don’t do more than 3 sessions in a weekend. If you have a time frame in mind it would be a good idea to contact me and I can let you know what is available. I always find something that works for the both of us!
What should I wear?
Solid colors are best. Stay away from loud or busy prints and shirts with company logos on them.
When dressing a family using complementary colors looks great! Navy, black or white with khakis look great for a more formal look. Other color combinations that look nice with jeans are {each combination is separated with this line | } : white | black | plum and brown or black | pink, orange and brown | blue and green | red and black | brown and blue | brown, pink and cream | blue, yellow and white or tan | purple, blue and tan. Check out the page titled “What to Wear Guides” for visuals.
Using accessories like scarves, necklaces and bracelets really adds to the outfit as well! If you buy something new make sure you wear it before our session so you can see if you feel comfortable in it or not. If you don’t feel comfortable, it will show in the photos!
Don’t forget to think about the socks and shoes! If you are wearing dark clothes make sure you have dark socks on! You never know what I’ll ask you to do and white socks stand out so much more in photos! Be sure your shoes don’t have holes in them where the sock will been seen and make sure the color goes with the outfit.
How long can I expect to be at the photo session?
Sessions range from 45 minutes up to 90 minutes depending on the people involved and what you’re looking for. For children I try to do quick sessions because their attention and happy mood only lasts so long. For High School Seniors I’ll do a longer session because there would be an outfit and location change. Typically the family sessions are about 60 minutes from start to finish.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes! You will be given referral cards with your digital images or print purchase and with each referral card that is redeemed you receive $25 off your next photo session fee. The person who receives the card will receive 3 complimentary 8×10 photos after purchase of photo session.
How long after my session will I see my photos to select prints or get a disc in the mail?
The day of your sessions I’ll post one photo to my Facebook page, that way you can see at least one photo from our time together!
Within 2 weeks of our session you’ll receive an e-mail with a password to your gallery to select photos for printing, or an email saying that your disc has been mailed out. In that same e-mail you’ll get a link to the blog post where I’ve selected a few to share with others. Feel free to pass that link on to family and friends!
What should I do if I need to cancel my appointment?
Things come up in life, I get it! I really do! However, 48 to 24 hour cancellation or rescheduling notice is required or you will be charged a $25.00 rescheduling fee. Previously scheduled photo sessions will not be changed in order to meet your rescheduling needs. You will select an open time in my schedule.
